Hemp oil is made from the hemp plant, obviously, and so is CBD oil. It is an extract taken from the seeds of the plant. This type of oil can be extracted from all plants in the cannabis family but only industrial hemp is used for making CBD oil. The amount of THC or psychoactive substances it contains is minimal. CBD Oil is made from Cannabis Sativa. Only the seed is cold-pressed to obtain the oil from the plant. It is also called Hemp Seed Oil. This oil contains trace amounts of THC (the psychoactive agent which makes people high). CBD Oil is regulated and is tested for THC but not for CBD (the medicinal component of the plant).
Industrial Hemp Oil is also made from Cannabis Sativa. It is the SAME as hemp oil and hemp seed oil. Industrial hemp has low levels of THC as compared to marijuana, which is specifically cultivated for personal recreational use.
Hemp has a low THC content because most THC is made in the buds and flowers of the cannabis plant. Industrial hemp is not cultivated to produce buds. Thus is doesn’t even have the main component that creates the marijuana high. Additionally, industrial hemp has higher concentrations of CBD.
Hemp Extract Oil (aka CBD oil) as mentioned comes from a cannabis plant called Cannabis Sativa. Hemp Extract is made from the entire plant including leaf, seed and stem. Most CBD oils on the market (including CBD oil for pain) are at least 97% oil or vegetable glycerin and 3% hemp extract. This does not contain THC and is legal in all 50 states.
Hemp Extract is a hemp oil extract from Canada which has naturally occurring terpenes, flavonoids & beneficial phytonutrients extracted from the hemp plant. This hemp oil undergoes a special process to make sure it is free of harmful solvents and uses a gentle, low temperature, alcohol free extraction process that yields the purest form of hemp oil extract available.
This clean oil extraction process yields a high quality extracted hemp oil retaining a broad spectrum of terpenes and other phyto compounds derived from the Cannabis Sativa industrial hemp plant. This does not contain THC and is legal in all 50 states.
Cannabis Oil is from a different plant called the Cannabis Indica plant. The oil is extracted from the leaves of the Cannabis plant. As the marijuana plant, it contains high levels of THC and is illegal in most states. This is the type that is used for recreational use as well as medicinal purposes. It is not regulated in its production.
CBD oil for pain has become very popular in the medical marijuana arena as it is very useful in the treatment of some conditions but without the typical effects of marijuana use (i.e. getting “high”).
